It is also very popular with the oil and gas industry due to its fire rating and sliding/wear properties. PEEK Sheet is also known and extensively used within the medical implant sector because it is very strong and tough and easy to process. Other industries include the food processing catagories, this is due to its FDA acceptance as well as its resistance to microwaves. PEEK Sheet is often found within valves and pumps due to its heat resistance and chemical abilities. An obvious industry for PEEK has proved to be aerospace, this is due to a number of factors including the critical fire retardancy as well as its very low weight compared with other materials. PEEK Sheet is also known to be used within printers and photocopiers due to its low friction, low wear and high temperature resistance. PEEK Sheet is excellent for surgical instruments due to its compatibility with the high pressure autoclave process required by modern sterilisation systems.
